Five days off in a row and I barely had time to think, let alone get everything done that I had planned. A couple of days at work this week and then six days off in a row, I wonder what I won't achieve in that time? Haha.

Have you ever thought about what kind of person you are? Of course you have! I'm sure everyone has. I used to think about it a lot more as a teenager, but I was basing a lot of my knowledge on horoscopes. I was obsessed with horoscopes and analysing people and relationships (mainly as they were related to me and how I saw them). If I had been reading about psychology and doing real personality tests instead astrology books, how much more would I have known about myself? Dunno.

When I worked for Newmont, the whole geology department had to do an online personality test which categorized us into different personality types so we could work out how to work together better. After I got the personality report I realised the value of it, and I still find it interesting to read.

The different categories were
Reformer
Director
Motivator
Inspirer
Helper
Supporter
Coordinator
Observer

I was a Coordinating Supporter.
Diplomatic, sincere, affable, amiable, easy-going, patient, tolerant, open-minded, flexible and adaptable. High sense of duty. will go to great lengths to fulfil sense of obligation and responsibility. Precise and disciplined with high standards and expectations of myself. Use past experiences to help solve current problems and get things done. Eye for detail and accuracy. I don't attribute unseen motives to others, tending to take people and situations at face value. My habitual view of people is non-confrontational, understanding and forgiving. Having little personal desire to dominate and control others, I find it hard to understand why others try to impose limits, order and structure upon others and avoid trying to change or control people. Trustworthy confidante who accepts a wide range of behavioural differences in others.

I wonder if the results would be the same if I did the personality test now. I later did a Myer-Briggs personality test which categorized me as INTP:

People who prefer Introversion tend to focus their attention on the inner world of ideas and impressions. (Slight)
People who prefer Intuition tend to take on information from patters and the big picture and focus on future possibilities. (Very slight)
People who prefer Thinking tend to make decisions based primarily on logic and on objective analysis of cause and effect. (Moderate)
People who prefer Perceiving tend to like a flexible and spontaneous approach to life and prefer to keep their options open. (Moderate)

Logical, analytical and objectively critical
Quick, insightful, and ingenious; intensely curious about ideas and theories
Adept at providing a detached, concise analysis of an idea or a situation
Likely to approach situations with skepticism and form independent opinions and standards
Flexible and tolerant of a wide range of behaviours
Usually seen by others as quiet, contained and independent.

There were pretty similar outcomes from both personality tests. The outcomes from the Myer Briggs test weren't very clear, just slight to moderate. What does that even mean?

I had to do one of those when I was at Siemens back in the day... think it was a Meyer Briggs but have absolutely no idea what my results were. Still it's fun thinking about it and then it makes me wonder if we consciously think about these things when we are in certain situations that require a modified form of behaviour... don´t know. All too hard... and well done with the blogging.... Olga needs to update.... give her a nudge from me. ;-)
